Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe

On arrival into Entebbe you will be greeted by our specialist airport team and assisted to Airport Guest House.

Time permitting, you may wish to organise additional activities in Entebbe.

Overnight: Airport Guest House (Bed and Breakfast)

 

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park

After a morning safari briefing over coffee, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. There will be a stop on the way at the equator point for photographs and souvenirs.

Enjoy an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo where many birds are seen as well as hippos and crocodiles and elephants.

Overnight: Rwakobo Rock Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy a morning game drive before transferring to Bwindi National Park.

As you journey through the Kigezi Highlands, with terraced farming and mountain scenery you will see why it is often called the “Switzerland of Africa”.

Arrive at the small town of Buhoma on the edge of Bwindi Forest where you stay for two nights.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today you will come face to face with the great apes as you trek the mountain gorillas on the wildlife encounter of a lifetime.

After, you may wish to take a walk down to the river, browse the souvenir stalls in Buhoma, visit the local women’s craft group or have a tour of the village school.

There is also the option to take a guided community walk with the BATWA tribe and learn about their fascinating history in the forest (extra cost applies).

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you journey to the southern region of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, known as the Ishasha sector. This part of the park is famous for sightings of tree-climbing lions.

You should reach your lodge in the mid afternoon, in time to relax and enjoy the views of the crater lakes.

Overnight: Parkview Safari Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive where you search for Lions and bush game. If you depart early enough you may even spot a leopard on the move in the early morning sun.

In the afternoon, embark on a shared safari boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which is home a variety of water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and waterbucks.

En-route back to the lodge, enjoy a visit Kataara Women’s Handicraft Centre; a fascinating initiative and a great place to pick up gifts to take home.

Overnight: Parkview Safari Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park

This morning you will be transfer to the outskirts of Kibale Forest where you stay for one night.

In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk at the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. This is a wonderful opportunity to view 200+ bird species and 8 varieties of primates, including the black & white colobus monkey, red colobus monkey and vervet monkey.

Bigodi is also a great example ensuring both local residents and tourism benefit economically.

Overnight: Kibale Guest Cottages (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 8: End of Itinerary

Today you meet the second of the great apes as you trek the chimpanzees. Although sightings are never guaranteed, Kibale offers the most reliable viewings and it is often possible to get very close to the chimpanzees, as they forage or rest in the open spaces.

After your trek, continue to Fort Portal for lunch before continuing onward to Entebbe.

* Please note that the transfer to Entebbe takes around 6-7 hrs. Please book onward flights departing after 9.00pm to allow sufficient time for check-in.
