Day 1: Entebbe

On arrival into Entebbe you will be met and assisted to your hotel where you stay for one night.

Time permitting, we can arrange for additional activities within Entebbe from tours of the botanical gardens to bike tours, shoebill birding tour, wildlife centre visits, or boat cruises on Lake Victoria (extra cost applies).

Overnight: Airport Guest House (Bed and Breakfast)

 

Day 2: Kibale Forest National Park

Today you will transfer to Kibale Forest where you stay for one night. The journey is scenic and on good roads.

You will stop for lunch as well as rest stops as required, however, light aircraft flight options are available at additional cost.

Relax in the afternoon at the lodge which has stunning views over the crater lakes from the main building and swimming pool.

Overnight: Crater Safari Lodge (Full Board – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) 

 

Day 3: Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park

Spend the morning searching for the famous chimpanzees of Kibale Forest. It should be noted that because chimpanzees move quickly through the trees sightings are not guaranteed, however, Kibale forest offers the most reliable sightings and close-up viewing opportunities.

In the afternoon, embark on a shared safari boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park for one night.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy a morning game drive in Ishasha before transferring to Buhoma.

Here, you can take a walk down to the river, explore the local village, visit the craft markets or visit the children of Bwindi Plus Nursery.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs Lodge (Full Board Plus – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast, Lunch and Activities)

 

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 

Enjoy the wildlife encounter of a lifetime as you trek the majestic mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

After the trek, enjoy an optional visit to the Ride 4 A Woman project; a community initiative providing work and valuable skills for the local women. This is a hub of activity, with a lovely craft shop and a chance to engage with the local ladies. They even offer cooking lessons by pre-arrangement so you can learn to make the famous snack, a Uganda Rolex!

Day 6: Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the Cyanika border where you cross into Rwanda.

Enjoy lunch at the lodge followed by a privately guided community tour.

Overnight: Ingagi Park View Lodge (Full Board – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 

Day 7: End of Itinerary

Today you will trek the golden monkeys of Uganda. These cheeky primates are a joy to watch as they leap from branches with great agility.

In the afternoon, depart with your guide back to Kigali where you continue with your own onward flight arrangements.
