Day 1: Volcanoes National Park

You will be picked up in Kigali and taken on a private city tour (genocide memorial entrance included), before transferring to Musanze.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided village walk to meet the communities living side by side with the forest. This is also an excellent opportunity to view Rwandan way of life, as the women demonstrate basket weaving, cooking and crafts.

* Please note it is recommended to depart from Kigali early morning to allow sufficient time for activities and transfers. Accommodation in Kigali can be arranged at additional cost.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy the wildlife encounter of a lifetime as you trek the majestic mountain gorillas.

You will join a group of no more than eight people in total as you spend one hour observing the gorillas. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It is amazing to think there are only around 1,000 of these beautiful creatures left but numbers are growing!

Full details and guidance on trekking will be provided upon booking.

In the afternoon, you will be taken on a shared boat cruise on the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 3: End of Itinerary

In the morning, return to the trekking HQ to trek the golden monkeys. They are a delight to watch as they spring from tree to tree with their bright bushy tails!

After the trek, transfer back to Kigali. We will drop off at the airport or a city hotel.

** Flight departing after 6:00pm is required.

** Those not wishing to trek the monkeys can deduct $100 per person from the total price or swap with a private city tour of Kigali **
