Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Transfer to Entebbe airport where you depart on a shared light aircraft to Kisoro.

On arrival, head to Lake Mutanda for a privately guided canoe excursion. Paddle the canoe yourselves or relax and enjoy the views as your canoe guide propels you through these beautiful waters. Vehicle support is provided should you wish to hike back to the lodge.

Additional afternoon activities may be arranged at the lodge depending on the time available.

Overnight: Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge (Full Board – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

 

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy the wildlife encounter of a lifetime as you trek the majestic mountain gorillas. Full guidance on trekking, clothing, tipping and preparations for the safari will be issued upon booking.

In the afternoon you will be taken on a short guided community walking tour which commences from the lodge and concludes with a scenic viewpoint overlooking all six of the volcanoes.

Day 3: Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today you embark on a hike as you journey through Bwindi Forest towards Buhoma.

There are various walking trails available to suit all fitness levels.

Route 1 – The Kashasha River Trail

The trek to Buhoma along the Kashasha River Trail is 4 to 5 hours and passes the junction of two rivers. The trek involves steep inclines but offers a close up experience of the natural wonders within a rainforest environment.

Route 2 – The Ivy River Trail

The trek to Buhoma along the Ivy River Trail is approximately 7 hours and follows a murram road downhill with views over the forest (entrance fees and ranger guide fees required). The trail is an important footpath for local people travelling to and from Nkuringo particularly on market days to Nteko village.


Upon arrival into Buhoma, visit the Ride 4 A Woman project where you meet the ladies making crafts and enjoy a traditional Ugandan lunch prepared by them.

After lunch, transfer to the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park; home to the famous tree-climbing lions.

Overnight: Enjojo Safari Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 4: Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy a morning game viewing in the Ishasha sector, looking out for tree-climbing lions. The landscape is a diverse ecosystem and is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Look out for buffaloes, lions, elephants and other wild life in their natural habitat.

After lunch, embark on a safari boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where sightings of elephants, buffaloes, waterbuck, monkeys and large Nile crocodiles are regular.

Overnight: Kasenyi Safari Lodge (Full Board – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Day 5: End of Itinerary 

After breakfast, depart on a shared light aircraft flight back to Entebbe.

On arrival, you will be transferred to Papyrus Hotel where a dayroom will be available for your use until early evening departure.

Time permitting, additional activities may be booked for the afternoon including a visit to Mabamba Swamp (famous for sightings of the giant shoebill bird), the botanical gardens, guided cycling tours or private visits to the Uganda wildlife centre.
