Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe

On arrival into Entebbe you will be greeted and assisted to Airport Guest House.

Time permitting, you may wish to arrange optional activities.

Overnight: Airport Guest House (Bed and Breakfast)

 

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

After a morning safari briefing, transfer to ZIWA Rhino Sanctuary where you stop for lunch and to trek the white rhino’s on foot. The sanctuary is home to 30+ rhino which are part of a very successful breeding program to re-introduce rhino back into Uganda’s National Parks.

Continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, which is home to a variety of animals include giraffes, lions, leopard, hartebeests, elephants, cape buffalo and many other mammals.

In the afternoon, join a boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls – where the Nile plunges through a narrow crevice and over a 40 metre drop.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, visit the Boomu women’s group which has been specially selected by us as an authentic cultural and community engagement project.

Continue your journey to the outskirts of Kibale Forest where you can relax to the sounds of chimpanzee and primates in the surrounding forest.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park

This morning you embark on a trek in Kibale Forest to search for the chimpanzees. Although sightings are never guaranteed, Kibale offers the most reliable viewings and it is often possible to get very close to the chimpanzees, as they forage or rest in the open spaces.

After the trek, your guide will take you on a walking tour of the Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Bigodi is a birder’s paradise with over 200 bird species, including the great blue turaco.

Day 6: Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop for a photo opportunity as you cross the equator en-route!

Enjoy a visit to the Katara Women’s Group (another excellent and authentic cultural interaction where they make paper and other products out of Elephant dung!) before continuing on to the lodge in time for lunch.

In the afternoon, join a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga channel has one of the most dense populations of hippos in Africa and large herds of elephants are also often seen at the waters edge.

Day 7: Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi region of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is often home to lion prides and the occasional leopard.

Transfer through the rural countryside passing through traditional homesteads and farms to the southern sector of the park, known as the Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions.

In the afternoon, search for the tree-climbing lions. Regardless of whether you are lucky enough to see the lions, the area is scenic and sightings of elephants are common.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy a morning game drive in Ishasha before transferring to Buhoma.

Here, you can take a walk down to the river, explore the local village, visit the craft markets or visit the children of Bwindi Plus Nursery.

Overnight: Mahogany Springs Lodge (Full Board Plus – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast, Lunch and Activities)

 

Day 9: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Enjoy the wildlife encounter of a lifetime as you trek the majestic mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

After the trek, enjoy an optional visit to the Ride 4 A Woman project; a community initiative providing work and valuable skills for the local women. This is a hub of activity, with a lovely craft shop and a chance to engage with the local ladies. They even offer cooking lessons by pre-arrangement so you can learn to make the famous snack, a Uganda Rolex!

Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoying lunch en-route.

Continue on to the park and arrive in time for the afternoon boat cruise along Lake Mburo. This is the smallest of Uganda’s National Parks but very scenic and an excellent location to relax.

Overnight: Rwakobo Rock Lodge (Full Board Plus – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast, Lunch and Activities)

 

Day 11: End of Itinerary

Enjoy an early morning game drive. Look out for the giraffes which were transported from Murchison Falls National Park.

Transfer back to Entebbe, crossing the equator again and enjoying lunch en-route.

Continue with your own onward arrangements.

**We recommend booking an international flight departing after 5pm. Those with later flights can book a dayroom in Entebbe or ask our team about optional activities.**
